Symbols of British Columbia
2 symbols of British Columbia are combined in our above illustration for B.C. day that represent the province.
The Official Bird
The Steller’s Jay is pictured sitting atop our logo with its bright blue feathers and spiky black crown. Though some in the west call this a “blue jay” it is notably quite to different than the white and blue “blue jay” of Eastern North America.
The Official Flower
The Pacfic Dogwood is shown in the background. The Pacific Dogwood is notably different from the traditional Dogwood flower in 2 ways:
1) It does not have notches on it petals
2) It has 4-8 petals, as opposed to only 4 on common Dogwood
